Study on Fruit Growth and Quality Components of a Novel Melon Series--Flavor Melon

　　This study was conducted in the plastic greenhouse in Sanya of Hainan Province in China from February to April in 2007.The fruit growth and qualities were detected in order to compare two cultivars of ‘Flavor Melon’ series with a traditional melon cultivar ‘Xuelihong’.‘Flavor Melon’ series were hybrids bred from a new high-acid cultivar,which was bred using Co60-γradiation,as male parent,with different female cultivars.‘Flavor No.3’ was mature 35 days after pollination (DAP),both ‘Flavor No.4’ and ‘Xuelihong’ were mature 40 DAP.
