Trials for the likelihood of the transgene flow and introgression from transgenic Chinese cabbage to related Cruciferae species were carried out in the experimental field of Beijing Vegetable Research Center and in the green house.Transgenic Chinese cabbage (B.rapa ssp.chinensis),which the herbicide resistant bar gene had been introduced,were planted in the central area of the field and by its two sides were the routine Cruciferae crops.Different species were vernalized different days and planted in the field on various date to get the maximum overlapping of the flowering period with transgenic Chinese cabbage.Seeds of each species were harvested every 3 meters in the trial area independently and hybrids were selected by spraying of 0.5% Basta solution for 3 times at young seedling stage in the trays.
