Melon is a globally and widely cultivated vegetable.China is one of the earlist states of melon planting.The harvest area and the production yield of melon in China are top in the world.Powdery mildew disease is one of the most serious diseases in melon.Unfortunately all of the native Hami-melon germplasm are hardly resistant to powdery mildew.It caused a lot of loss in China Hami-melon production.So it is necessary to establish the marker assisted selection (MAS) for melon disease resistance breeding,which will improve the efficiency of traditional breeding.
