By data analyze of vegetable industry of districts and provinces from 1997-2004,vegetable industry of Shanghai is superior at size with index of 3.2,which is in an uprising trend.In the year of 2002 vegetable cultivation area of Shanghai reached to 80000 hector (times),accupying 32.6% of crop cultivation area of the city,which is 4.6 times of areas in the year of 1990,and aparently higher than other crops area.It is because of industrial structure adjustment and cultivation area expanding.However,Shanghais vegetable production did not hold effective advantage with index of 0.5.Its reason is that other crops yield per unit is high as well.Totally speaking,vegetable production of Shanghai hold relative comprehensive advantage with index high than 1.
