非人类灵长类动物(NHPs)在代谢及代谢疾病的发展过程中与人类享有许多相似之处.因为，营养过剩和长期处于非活动状态是造成人体代谢疾病进展的两个关键条件，我们给食蟹猴喂高脂饮食建立了一种NHP代谢性疾病模型，这个NHP代谢疾病模型将为我们提供更好条件去了解人体代谢疾病的进展和机制并且将促进新的药物研究和发现.我们成功地研发了老年性食蟹猴由高脂饮食诱导的代谢综合征模型.在此模型中，前45天内平均体重增

非人类灵长类动物(NHPs)在代谢及代谢疾病的发展过程中与人类享有许多相似之处.因为，营养过剩和长期处于非活动状态是造成人体代谢疾病进展的两个关键条件，我们给食蟹猴喂高脂饮食建立了一种NHP代谢性疾病模型，这个NHP代谢疾病模型将为我们提供更好条件去了解人体代谢疾病的进展和机制并且将促进新的药物研究和发现.我们成功地研发了老年性食蟹猴由高脂饮食诱导的代谢综合征模型.在此模型中，前45天内平均体重增加约29g/day.平均空腹血糖在12个月内增加1倍.约有一半的猴子出现胰岛素抵抗、糖耐量受损、糖尿病前代谢综合症甚至出现糖尿病.
