Epidemiology data showed that hyperuricemia is associated with cardiovascular disease.In type 2 diabetes, our data showed SUA is a critical risk factor of atherosclerosis in male patients and postmenopausal female, but has no relationship with occurrence and development of atherosclerosis in premenopausal female patients.In shanxi diabetes cross-sectional survey population, the uric acid level was closely associated with metabolic syndrome and the risk of MS was elevated with the uric acid level increasing.Data of 21,414 participants from the 2007-2008 China National Diabetes and Metabolic Disorders Study showed that maximum weight was associated with increased risk of elevated SUA level (P<0.001).
