Objective To study the effect of welding fume on the operator’s electrocardiogram. Methods A total of 132 welding operators were selected as the observation group and 100 laborers who did not touch welding jobs and other harmful factors as control group. The two groups were subjected to health examination, and the results of electrocardiogram examination were compared. Results The time-weighted average (TWA) concentrations of welding fumes in the workplace were below the national time-weighted average allowable concentration (PC-TWA), and the incidence of cardiovascular symptoms in the observation and control groups was 13.95% and 4.00, respectively %, The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); the detection rate of ECG abnormalities were 34.09% and 14.00%, respectively, with significant difference between the two groups (P <0.01) Mainly. The abnormal rate of electrocardiogram over 10 years of service was statistically significant between the two groups (χ2 = 10.55, P <0.01). There were significant differences in ECG abnormalities between <10 years of service and ≥10 years of service in the observation group (χ2 = 5.51, P <0.05). Conclusion The abnormal rate of electrocardiogram in welding fume-holder is higher.
