由于语言独具的交际特性，近年来各地英语高考试题也越来越注重在“交际功能”方面的考查。比如在2008年的全国各地高考试卷的语法和词汇单选大题里就共计出现了30个小题，这在高考试卷中所占比率是相当大的。为了更直观地认识它们的考查形式，在这里，我们分别以非课标区和课标区把它们全部展示出来，让同学们体会一下:
一､非课标考区

从全国各地试卷分析可以看出，英语语言能力的测试不仅仅单纯集中在语法结构上，而且往往结合具体的语境，体现语言的交际功能。因此，英语语言学习要灵活运用语法规则，结合文化､民族习惯和具体语境，在活的环境中学习活的语言。
近年来的高考试题中，对交际用语的考查主要表现为试题设置灵活性较强，模糊性大。
这类题也是考查学生的实际口语交际能力，它是在一定环境下，把语言知识升华到语言技能。在做题时，要弄清双方谈话的中心以及谈话人之间的关系。
