Gastric cancer remains one of the most frequent killers worldwide.The endogastric capsule (EC) can represent an easy, discomfort free and non-invasive tool on screening programs for early diagnosis of gastric cancer in the next future of Medicine.It is a valuable method for collecting DNA from gastric mucosa derived cells, suitable to be examined by molecular analyses.EC is small (13mm in length and 4mm in diameter), covered by an external gelatine envelope and made of plastic inert material pierced with three holes.It can be swallowed drinking a small amount of water and left into the gastric cavity for 60 min (for more details see previous papers).
