A Romantic Encounter with the Cherry Blossom
大阪自古是日本最重要的城市。公元7世紀，日本最早模仿中国古都的都城建造于大阪。其后虽将其迁移到了近邻的奈良及京都，但大阪却一直作为日本文化·通商的大门保持着繁盛景象。1583年，实现了一统天下的丰臣秀吉以大阪为根据地，建造了巨大且华丽的大阪城，使大阪成为了日本政治·经济的中心地。公元17世纪，政治中心转移到了当时被称之为江户的东京。大阪因为市内河流纵横，货船穿梭，经济和商业活动非常活跃，从国内各地收获的四季时令食材也都集中于此，大阪成为了“天下的厨房”。

Osaka has been the most important city in Japan since a long time ago. In the 7th century， the Japanese built Osaka in imitation of the Chinese ancient city. Although later the capital was moved to the nearby Nara and Kyoto， still， Osaka has always been the gateway to Japanese culture and business， and has maintained its prosperity. In 1583， Toyotomi Hideyoshi rebuilt Osaka as the political and financial center of Japan after he unified the whole country. In the 17th century， the political center transferred to Tokyo， the then Edo. Due to its vibrant river transportation， Osaka enjoyed successful financial and business activity， and since food around the season were shipped here from around the country， Osaka has become "the kitchen of the world".
