Sn-MgAl_2O_4 supports were Prepared by coprecipitation methodwith different Sn contents. Pt(0.35%(mass)) was incorporated with theseobtained supports by inciPient weiness impregnation. The obtained catalystswere characterized by TPR(temperature programmed reduction), H2-TPD(temperature programmed desorption) and tested in propanedehydrogenation. The TPR results showed an assiSted reduction of tin byplatinum. However, the tin oxide was stabilized by interaction withMgAl2O4 support. TPD data indicated that tin inhibited inactivatedadsorption of hydrogen but promoted the activated adsorption. In addition, the activity of propane dehydrogenation over the Pt/Sn-MgAl2O4 catalystincreased with the increaSe of tin content. These results imply that tin canpromote platinUm dispersion by anchoring or interaction effect.
