一、教學内容分析
本单元围绕a healthy life这一主题开展听、说、读、写多种教学活动，让学生们了解健康生活的重要意义。而这一话题能使学生们意识到在日常生活中有些活动是不益于身体健康的。例如，本单元的reading，是介绍一封来自爷爷写给孙子的信，学生通过这封信可以学到吸烟对吸烟者以及他人的危害，以及如何劝说他人吸烟。通过对这一课的学习，学生们能够远离吸烟，关注身体的健康，并为实现美好的未来而努力学习。
在经过前几个课时“热身”（Warming up）， “读前”（Pre-reading），后，学生对本单元的话题已形成基本框架，同时也掌握了——些新单词来描述健康生活，这些都为学生“阅读”（reading）打下基础。
“阅读”（reading）部分包括：
1快速阅读训练：教材上的阅读是一封书信。grandad写给grandson的一封信，介绍：爷爷以自身的经历告诫孙子吸烟有害健康（他人和自身）。
2精读训练：通过对这封信的仔细阅读，让学生找出吸烟上瘾的方式以及吸烟是如何危害身体的。
3写作训练：设想你朋友式吸烟者，你如何帮助他戒烟，要求学生写一封信。

这个部分是通过一幅漫画导入，这一方面可以激起学生们的学习兴趣，另一方面也让学生们很直入的意识到吸烟的危害。
Step 2 Skimming

2Find out the main idea of each paragraph
这一部分属于快速阅读，这个步骤设计得很浅，主要是考虑到英语程度差的同学，使他们很容易就能回答这些问题，让他们从一开始就参与到阅读的活动中来，从而调动他们阅读学习的热情。

这个活动是前面内容的延伸，主要是让学生知道如何劝说他人戒烟
