The Melut Basin is a rift basin formed under the background of shear-zone slip between China and Africa. It has the characteristics of early Cretaceous passive rift basins and late Paleo-active rifting in the Neogene, and has long been a braided River, delta and other fields for exploration. Through comprehensive geophysical and geophysical studies, a series of fan-body sediments have been identified in the northern depression of the basin, including the Abyat fan delta in the east depression and the ruman nearshore subaerobic fan in the west. These fans are mainly formed in the basin during the initial passive rifting period, developed in Cretaceous Galhak and Al Gayger formations near the Lower Cretaceous Al Renk Formation and source rocks, and have favorable conditions for the formation, storage and cover of rocks . The discovery of the fan body confirms that the initial passive rifting period in the non-rift basin of Melut et al. Is also similar to the deposition of various fan bodies such as fan delta and underwater fan in the active rift basins, and has good reservoir forming conditions and exploration The potential of this discovery and understanding expands exploration potential and space in the Rift Basin in Central Africa.
