对回教徒而言 ,回教先知穆罕默德的诞辰纪念日 ,是个具有伟大宗教意义和值得庆祝的节日。然而 1 964年 7月穆罕默德的诞辰纪念日却给新加坡的回教徒留下了惨痛的回忆。原本洋溢着欢乐与激昂情绪的庆祝游行却演变成可怕的流血事件。这次的暴动事件引起了国际社会的关注 ,同时也暴露了新马两地的政治斗争和华巫两族的矛盾与猜疑。种族暴动于同年 9月再次发生 ,不但涉及印尼的阴谋 ,也让新加坡人民深切地意识到种族和宗教的敏感性
For Muslims, the birthday anniversary of the Muslim Prophet Muhammad is a festival of great religious significance and celebration. However, Muhammad’s birthday anniversary in July 1964 left a tragic memory to the Muslims in Singapore. The celebratory march, originally filled with joy and excitement, evolved into a terrible bloodshed. This riot has drawn the attention of the international community and also exposed the political struggle in both Malaysia and Malaysia and the contradictions and suspicions between the two groups. Racial rebellion took place again in September of the same year, not only in relation to Indonesia’s plots but also to make Singaporeans deeply aware of ethnic and religious sensitivities
