Production of Spodoptera litura not thorough directly regulating Vg promoter.The vitellogenin (Vg) synthesis and uptake play the key role in the reproductive process of insect during vitellogenesis, which is susceptive to endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs).As a well-known EDC, the toxic heavy metal lead (Pb) is found ubiquitous in the ecosystems, and Pb can eventually reach to higher trophic levels such as the arthropods including herbivorous insects.
