Alanine aminotransferase (ALT) (EC 2.6.2.2.) is a pyridoxal-5-phosphate-dependent(PLP) enzyme that catalyzes the reversible transfer of an amino group from alanine to α-ketoglutarate to form pyruvate and glutamate.In this study, two full-length ALT cDNAs were cloned in the white back planthopper Sogatella furcifera.
