Termites are known as a successful group of wood-degrading organisms which could provide good catalysts for energy conversion of wood into biofuels.To understand the lignocellulolytic mechanism of the higher termites, bacteria diversities in the midgut and hindgut of the higher termite Macrotermes barneyi were investigated using high-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing method.
