The Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB),a natural laboratory for the study of accretionary tectonic,is one of the worlds largest accretionary orogens (Windley et al.,2007;Xiao et al.,2009),and continental crustal growth owing to subduction and accretion of juvenile material in the Paleozoic (Jahn,2004).There is a debate, however,on the mechanism of its continental crustal growth.Subduction of active spreading ridges most likely occurs throughout Earths history, which is a common tectonic feature in accretionary orogens and mechanism of continental growth (Windley et al.,2007).
