The Tarim Block in NW China underwent multiple tectonothermal events during its Precambrian evolution.Numerous geological records clearly indicate that the Neoproterozoic tectonic evolution of the Tarim Block could be ascribed to the assembly and breakup of the Rodinia supercontinent (e.g.Shu et al.,2011;Santosh et al.,2013).However,its affinity with the Palaeoproterozoic Columbia supercontinent is less well constrained.The northwest edge of the Tarim Block has good outcrops of both the cratonic basement and Neoproterozoic successions.
