1.Introduction The Yangyang deposit is one of the biggest iron deposits in the Republic of Korea which produced up to 8 million metric tons of iron ore with an average of 60 wt.％Fe.The Yangyang deposit is characterized by the occurrence of a distinctive mineral assemblage of the IOA deposit,also known as ?Kiruna-type deposit.The oxide-apatite ore bodies occur within the Triassic post-collisional sheared syenite.In this study we measured major,trace and Pb isotope composition of the magnetite,apatite and sphene from the Yangyang deposit to investigate the age of mineralization and ore genesis.
