  Aims: Literature shows that sudden and traumatic deaths may cause complicated grief reactions, serious existential crisis and posttraumatic after reactions for close bereaved.This study is the first research project focusing on bereaved from sudden deaths in Sami areas in Norway.The main aim of the study is to examine what kind of help and support bereaved from sudden deaths (accidents, suicide, homicide and sudden child death) need and have received from the public assistance system and their natural social network.
