The development of a 3-year randomised controlled trial designed to test an e-health intervention for secondary school students at risk of suicide and self harm will be discussed.Suicidal ideation and self harm are common amongst adolescents, and school counsellors are often the first point of contact.Schools have been shown to be an acceptable environment for tackling self-harm and studies are required to test interventions that are appropriate for this population and can be readily implemented in a school environment.
