Although we know a great deal about DNA DSB repair pathways in general, very little is known about how DSB repair is affected by its natural context in the cell, that is, within chromatin.Chromatin structure is an impediment to proteins accessing DNA,yet the repair machinery is somehow able to navigate through the chromatin and successfully repair damaged DNA.
