Stem cells are developed during early embryogenesis, and in turn regulate the formation of embryonic organs. After seed germination, the vegetative growth and reproduction of plants are strictly regulated by the activity of stem cells. The formation of floral organs needs the participation of stem cells. However, the activity of stem cells also needs to be terminated properly and timely to allow normal floral development.A novel Arabidopsis mutant with dwarf phenotypes and defects in floral organ formation and embryogenesis was identified and characterized.
