Modern agricultural monocultures are highly productive but are usually vulnerable to disease, insects and climatic anomalies.Increasing plant diversity in an ecosystem could augment its stability and avoid its vulnerability to biotic and abiotic stresses.Intercropping, which is the intermingled growth of two or more crops, is an important style to increase crop diversity in agricultural system[1].
