There are many aspects involved in running a successful transgenic unit-involving technical issues, administrative issues and scientific issues.A successful unit is one that manages to do all three well.Our membership has selected three overriding themes for this meetings discussion, and each presenter has been tasked with giving an overview of how they have managed their area.Dr.Xin-An Pu, from the Ohio State University will review troubleshooting techniques, giving specific examples from her experience.Dr.Benoit Kanzler will discuss how his unit manages to stay on the cutting edge of technology while still maintaining basic services.And, Dr.Thomas Kolbe will review some of the business aspects of running a transgenic unit.Audience participation is encouraged and expected.
