Purpose: Promote safety and desired outcomes of the reconstructive structure of the Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) in the skull base surgery under the guide of the surgical navigation system.Patients and Methods: 10 patients (14 sides TMJ ankylosis) had been treated in our clinic during the period between 2012 and 2014.Gain the preoperative CT-Dicom date of the patients by Spiral computed tomography.Reconstruct the 3D digital model with the CT-Dicom date and simulate the surgical process on the BrainLab preoperative simulation software, and predetermined safety margin of the resection toward the middle cranial fossa, and structure of the reconstructive TMJ structure.The operation had been done under the guide of surgical navigation system.Evaluate the mouth open and occlusion immediately in the operation, and follow up three to twelve months to investigate the forward outcomes.
