Objective: To present the use of Phototherapy in the management of orofacial pain, specifically patients with intemal derangement.Methods: Complete history taking of the patients and all were examined and diagnosed with symptomatic internal derangement with and/or without reduction.Symptoms like joint pain, muscle tenderness and muscle trigger points were identified.The patients were subjected to a Near Infrared Ray (Super Lizer-HA 2200, Tokyo Iken Co.) exposure at the temporomandibular joint area and depending on the other sites of pain and stellate ganglion irradiation for five to seven days alongside with mouth opening exercises and other home care instructions.Other patients were sent to the physical rehabilitation department for further management.Pain alleviation was recorded pre-and post-irradiation via visual analog scale questionnaire.Patients were followed up after one month.
