Thirty-eight potential Chinese Herbal Medicines (CHMs) for the treatment of spinocerebellar Ataxia (SCA)were analyzed their effects on the activation of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and excitotoxicityinduced by glutamate.One of the CHMs. NH030was found to be an effective CHM against thapsigargin ( TG) or tunicamycin (TM)-triggered ER-stress as well as glutamate incluced excitotoxicaty cell death.
