This study aims to develop a stable paraffin-based phase change material (PCM)/water emulsion for the solar heating storage applications.An n-Octacosane/water emulsion was prepared and some nano-partieles were dispersed in the emulsion as stabilizers to enhance the stability.The effects of different emulsification systems on the stability of emulsions were evaluated by the freeze-thaw method.There appeared to be a minimum effective concentration of both the emulsifier and the stabilizer to maintain the stable emulsion.Thermal analysis by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) indicated that the degree of supercooling of the emulsion was low.
