As cities develop fast and high-rise buildings keep growing in number,people get more and more opportunities to overlook a city.To get citizenshabits,likes and dislikes of observing downward landscapes under visual perception conditions and to provide a basis for related planning and control,this project selected Nanjing as the example in its survey.Specifically,formula and empirical methods were adopted to check and determine sample size.Stratified sampling was conducted on the basis of ensuring consistent sample distribution structure and overall population distribution structure.Then based on the sampling results,SPSS and other software were used to analyze the magnitude,classification,comparison and correlation of the lookouts,landscapes,landscape views and crowd characteristics.Below results were got: Nanjing citizens are wont to overlook the city at scenic spots and office venues;most of the recognized landscapes are natural landscapes led by mountains,waters and open spaces,while most of the unrecognized landscapes are urban landscapes led by modern building;there is a higher recognition consensus on and cohesion of high-quality downward landscapes than inferior landscapes;educational background,age and the observation frequency of downward landscapes influence citizenscomments on the merits of landscapes.However,ecology,forms,order and colors are the most concerned elements in these comments.
