Grade one (n=8) and grade three (n=8) architectural college students were asked to judge the shooting slope of photographs taken from four built single-storey houses,which had been selected according results of a questionnaire concerning the feature of architectural form.Eye tracker was used in this repeated measured factorial experiment that intended to examine the relationship among the performance,visual fixation and factors of the participant and architectural form.The experimental data indicated that there were huge differences between grade one students and grade three students in the response time,fixation count and average fixation duration but not the accuracy,whereas the architectural form factors and gender led to significant difference in none of the performance and visual fixation.Further analysis showed that the accuracy of each single experimental task was influenced by neither the speed of making judgment nor the visual fixing behaviors.Moreover,the students with higher accuracy tended to expend more time and more visual fixings in spite of some participants finishing experimental tasks correctly and quickly.
