肺结核患者的不住院药物治疗,已相当广泛地被国内外各防痨机构采用,并有不少有关临床上和流行病学上的分析报告。如在第14届国际防痨会议上,即有苏联、美国、埃及等16个国家的代表的报告;在国内曾有郭德隆、钱慕韩氏等以及江西鵭矿工人疗养院、上海第一医学院肺科教研组等,对肺结核患者不住院治疗问题,分别从疾病的转归、治疗方法的探讨、疗效的观察以及经济观点上加以论述及讨论。综合各家的意见,一致认为肺结核患者的适当病例,尤以早期的轻度病例,不住院药物治疗的效果是良好的。并且在流行病学的观点上,虽然不住院药物治疗的患者逐渐加多,但并未看出发病率的增加,相反的在Levinsky氏报告中,指出在布拉格一个中心地段里,新病人还在逐渐下降。此外不住院药物治疗是一个相当经济而又方便的方法,是值得推行的。而肺结核患者中除了干酪性肺炎、栗粒型结核、结核性脑膜炎、咯血等急性病例,以及需做外科手术治疗的病例
