王西京是当代卓有建树的人物画家。他是古都西安人,现任陕西省美术家协会主席、西安中国画院院长。我最早关注他是在1984年,我任江苏省美术馆副馆长不久,第六届全国美展中国画部分就在我馆展出。王西京的《远去的足音》以纪念碑雕塑式的手法,绘写出戊戌变法中壮烈牺牲的六君子英雄形象,令我十分震撼。最近品读他的画册和论文,对他有了进一步的了解。我认定王西京绘画成就的获得,绘画风格的递变,
Wang Xijing is a contemporary figure painter. He is the ancient capital of Xi’an, the incumbent President of Shaanxi Province Artists Association, Dean of Xi’an Chinese Painting Academy. My earliest concern was that he was in 1984, shortly after I was the deputy director of the Jiangsu Provincial Art Museum, part of the Chinese painting of the 6th National Art Exhibition was on display in our museum. I was greatly shocked by Wang Xijing’s “Footing Sounds” written by the heroic sculpture of the monument to the heroic image of the six gentlemen who died during the Hundred Days Reform.
