承德市地处河北省北部,四季分明,光照充足,昼夜温差大,土壤肥沃,适宜谷子生长。2008年,从张家口农科院引进多个杂交谷子新品种,在北部地区的隆化县韩麻营、八达营,围场县腰栈、黄土坎等乡镇进行试验示范,其中“张杂谷5号”在产量和抗逆性等方面表现尤其突出,适宜大面积示范。
