Language transfer has always been a central issue in applied linguistics, second language acquisition, and language research. Native language transfer is a fundamental issue that cannot be avoided in the study of second language acquisition. Whether the learner’s mother tongue in the acquisition of second language actually works or not? What role does it play? In the past, there was a view in the study of second language acquisition that the mother tongue interfered in learning a foreign language. However, in the teaching of foreign languages, the mother tongue does not always play a negative and negative role in the second language acquisition, but also has a positive and positive effect. This paper discusses the positive transfer of mother tongue in Mongolian students’ second language acquisition from the perspective of Mongolian students’ English vocabulary teaching.
