去年上期,我参加了全国城市中等教育结构改革座谈会,听取了兄弟省市的经验介绍。受到很大启发。联系本市的实际,我感到普通中学举办职业高中班,应当开步试一试。我市普通中学试办职业班是从去秋开始的。市委和市政府对这项工作十分重视。市委书记杨兴洲同志两次听取汇报,亲自到学校检查并提出具体要求。市长谭景阳同志参加了试点班开学典礼。市政府先后两次召开市长办公会议进行专题研究。副市长谢姣云同志还主持召开了有市计委、经委、建委、财办,以及电子、轻工、商业、劳动、教育局负责人参加的联席座谈会。根据中央有关精神,颁发了座谈纪要,决定从我市经济发展的实际需要出发,
