The project site was originally an open-air parking lot near the railway station and entertainment area in Luohu District. The surrounding area is noisy. In this project, architects are not passive executors. Instead, they work with the city planning department to develop a project orientation and business strategy that turns a simple parking lot project into a regional cultural hub. Its features include an outdoor public art display plaza, an interior art gallery, a bookstore, an art bar, an artist’s studio, and a semi-underground garage for up to 100 cars. The design strategy is to introduce new facilities and spatial forms that have the most differences with the urban contents surrounding the site to stimulate new urban living conditions and improve the quality of life in the area surrounding the site.
