人工牧草饲料营养丰富,生物产量高,抗逆性强,稳产保收。不仅是优质青饲料,而且还可加工成草粉,代替部分粮食作配合饲料原料。修水县宁州畜牧兽医站1983年用15％胡枝子草粉代替谷粉喂猪试验,试验组比对照组每头增重11.6公斤,节省稻谷63.75公斤,提高经济效益39.15元。江西省红壤试验站用500公斤红花鲜草可供1头断奶猪至出栏所需的青饲料,节省精料30％以上。石城县高田乡543户农民利用新江坪草场饲养黄牛,平时在草场放牧,冬季适当补给精料,1987年出售143头,年底还存栏1240头。利用发展人工牧草的办法不但必需,而且可行。
