In order to meet the need of the new situation, Fushun County Committee of Liaoning Province explored a new way of educating Party members in rural areas by integrating party members’ education with the “two bands and one gang (leading the rich, leading and helping the masses to get rich) and getting well-off together.” First of all, a large number of Communists were brought into the main battlefield of economic construction and found the timing and place for demonstrating exemplary vanguard role under the new historical conditions. Many Communist Party members, especially the veteran party members, said with deep feeling: What are the vanguard and exemplary role played by party members? Do you dare to take the battlefield and sacrifice spirit in the war years? Do you dare to fight the land during the reform period?
