In order to comply with the new toy safety directive 2009/48 / EC, the EU announced the draft standard EN71-7: 2012 on October 30, 2012. The deadline for the British Standards Institute to collect comments is February 11, 2013. The requirement in this standard is to use fingerprinting in the normal and predictable and reasonable circumstances of children to reduce the risk to their children.
