丝瓜(luffa cylmdrica Roem)为葫芦科一年生攀缘草本植物,嫩叶、卷须及嫩瓜可食。老熟后的丝瓜维管束能入药(中药谓之瓜络),通经活络,清热化痰。此外还可作为海绵代用品、造纸和人造纤维的原料。在山西自然气候条件下,丝瓜春季出土,蔓长1米左右便开花结果,可一直延续至9月份。开花初期,由于幼小植物积蓄养分有限,同时承受营养生长和生殖生长双重负担,矛盾很大。加之北方无霜期较短,其生长后期植株纤细,花多果少,座果率低,
