Contemporary American Indian writer Kieran Desai successfully transplants the scapegoat motif into his work “The Rip of Pan Pomegranate Garden” and has succeeded in shaping the typical scapegoat figure Samuath and giving it a clear scapegoat ceremony. Describing the motto of the scapegoat, Desai shows the traditional Indian ethos in her works.
