文化宫广场南侧的和平南路,高楼环立,现代气息扑面而来。而路中段横卧市河的单孔石拱桥新坊桥偏如老僧入定,虽高不过数米,却格外醒目。毕竟已1500多岁高龄,看惯了南朝至今的纷繁世事。桥北东拐便入一条400米长的巷子。据说古代织麻者聚居于此,得名“麻巷”。经大规模改造的麻巷,已难觅旧影,唯剩巷北一组占地1400多平方米的清代中期建筑——吴氏中丞第孤独地诉说着往昔的故事。
