2006年的中国新闻摄影界总有一些现象引发我们的思考。新闻摄影进入全民参与时代 2006年12月30日萨达姆被执行绞刑后,照片迅速占据许多重大媒体头条,画面中这位伊拉克前领导者脖带套索等待死亡。这些照片是用手机拍摄的,而并非官方公布的录像的截屏。这次事件再次证明拍照手机对新闻摄影的重要性。互联网的普及和数码相机价格的日益走低,使任何普通民众都有可能在新闻事件发生的第一时间从现场向全世界发出消息,人人都有机会成为新闻现场的记录者。新闻摄影历史被照相手机重新书写的时间应该追溯到2005年7月9日,世界上比较著名的两家报纸《华盛顿邮报》和《纽约时报》头版采用的关于伦敦爆炸案
