一、考纲解读
1. 考试说明。
完形填空安排在试卷第三部分语言知识运用里,本部分共两节。第一节为完形填空,第二节为语法填空。完形填空主要考查考生词汇在语篇里的综合运用能力,共20小题,每小题1.5分。在一篇约250词的短文中留出20个空白,要求考生从每题所给的4个选项中选出最佳选项,使补全后的短文意思通顺、前后连贯、结构完整。整个第三部分所需时间约为30分钟,那么,根据答题的实际情况,完形填空的答题时间应该控制在20分钟以内。
2. 样题分析。
下面就以2015年的高考英语试题作为样题进行分析,以便大家了解完形填空的命题规律和命题趋势。
第三部分英语知识运用(共两节,满分45)
第一节 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。
My kids and I were heading into the supermarket over the weekend. On the way,we spotted a man holding a piece of paper that said, “ 41 my job. Family to Feed.”

文章概要:作者和孩子们周末去超市购物。在超市外看见一位失去工作,为生计所迫的男子行乞。作者让孩子们在超市挑选些东西送给那个人。孩子们挑选了食物和购物卡,并为此孩子们减少了自己的购物开支。受到捐赠者感动落泪,孩子们也从这次经历享受了助人的快乐,这种快乐将一直伴随他们的成长。
试题分析:
3. 命题规律。
(1)选材规律。
完形填空文章长度一般为250词左右,选材以记叙文为主,常常是夹叙夹议,多涉及人物心理活动的细致描写,篇章与语句结构变化丰富多彩。
(2)选项规律。
四个选项的词类、词性相同,如孤立看对应挖空的句子,从语法上讲,四个选项都正确,因此正确答案只能从上下文的内容和逻辑关系来判断。设空与选项设计以实词为主,主要考查名词、动词、形容词、副词、短语动词等。其中名词、动词是高频考点,所占比重约占60%左右;形容词、副词是中频考点,虽然不及名词、动词考查密集,但也是次重点;低频考点为短语动词和连词等。
(3)设题规律。
完形填空短文结构完整,逻辑性强,话题富有教育意义,可读性强。文章第一句话一般不设题,每两个空之间一般要间隔6个词以上。设空需要根据所填单词所在的句子的前后提示才能确定正确答案;干扰项设计严密,一般来说,四个选项词性相同或属于同等或对等范畴,大多数空都可与空前或空后词形成某种搭配关系,或者仅就某一个空白而言,在语法上并不存在错误,对考生起到了应有的迷惑作用。
4. 命题趋势。
完形填空在2011年至2014年间,未考查连词,而2015年却有一题考查了连词,说明高考的命题总是会有一点细微的变化。我们根据对历年来高考命题的研究,不妨对未来的完形填空的命题趋势做一个大胆的预测。
(1)考点趋势。
未来的考查重点依然为名词、动词、形容词和副词,也有可能因为选材因素造成设题的局限性,会考查到连词或介词甚至代词,当然这种可能性极小。即使文章不好挖空设题,那么,设空考查连词、介词或代词也只会出1道题,不会同时考到这3种词。
(2)选材趋势。
未来完形填空的文章体裁应该还是以记叙文为主,当然记叙文里也有议论,也就是我们常说的夹叙夹议记叙文体。随着试题的不断改革,又有可能会出现说明文或议论文体裁的文章。不管是何种体裁的文章,其话题都是考生所熟悉的,都会是贴近学生生活的话题和富有教育意义的话题。
二、备考策略
完形填空所要求的语言的综合运用能力实际上包含三种能力:阅读理解能力、词语运用能力和逻辑推理能力。只要考生具备了这三种能力,完形填空自然而然就可以做好。这三种能力的获得不是仅仅靠练习完形填空就可以获得的,如果说要想通过练习完形填空而获得这三种能力的话,那么,可以说是极其“费时低效”的。
我们来算一笔账,我们做一篇完形填空需要20分钟左右,就是快的话,至少也要一刻钟。如果我们把这一刻钟或20分钟用来阅读文章的话,我们完全可以读完三到五篇;如果是带有阅读理解题的文章,我们也可以做两三。做阅读理解题的过程,本身就需要懂词汇的含义,需要理解文章的内容,需要做逻辑推理判断才能得出正确答案。由此,我们得出如下结论:
练阅读理解,事半功倍;练完形填空,事倍功半!只要考生具备了词汇运用能力和阅读理解能力,完形填空是不需要专门训练的!
通过对测试学的研究,我们发现这样一个“秘密”:完形填空这个题型是用来考试的,而不是用来训练学生提高英语水平的。尽管拿来训练,对一部分学生也会有一定的效果,但是,那是非常低效的。那么,怎样训练才是高效的呢?怎样训练就可以攻克完形填空和获得高分呢?根据笔者几十年的教学经验,尤其是近几年来所做的理论研究和实践活动,我提出以下几点建议,供高三师生参考。
1. 熟读课文,培养语感。
在总复习阶段,课文要反复大声朗读,直至能够背诵为止。如果对所学的课文真的能够熟读成诵,那么你的英语语感也就逐渐培养起来了。一旦有了语感,对做完形填空题是大有好处的,通过语感,你可以对所选的答案做出最直接的判断或提示,从而获得正确的答案。
2. 复习词汇,注意运用。
词汇要系统地复习,对于核心词汇,不但要会读会写还要会用。词汇当然不能孤立地去背诵,必须结合句子或短语记忆。这样记住了“语块(chunk)”,也就会对其中的单词记得更加牢固,有利于在写作中直接对“语块”加以运用。由于完形填空考查的就是词汇在语篇中的运用,大多数情况下,所填的词正好与后面或前面形成一个语块,这样,完形填空的答对率会大大提高。
3. 练习阅读,提升能力。
阅读一篇文章,首先必须是每一个单词都要认识,尤其是多义词在语境里的具体含义一定要搞清楚,否则可能会影响正确信息的获取。其次,考试是有时间限制的,必须在规定的时间内答完题,这就要求考生还需具备快速阅读的能力。一旦这些能力都具备了,完形填空也就自然过关了,可以得高分甚至是满分。
总之,完形填空是用来测试的,不是用来提高英语水平的!英语水平的提高不是靠练完形填空!只要方法得当,完形填空根本就不需要过多练习。有的高三同学会担心不多练会失分多,考不好怎么办?只要按照我上面讲的方法去做,你的水平上去了,不可能考不好。为了消除你的担心或疑虑,每周末或每隔一周的周末,在规定的时间内做一篇高考完形填空,来检测自己的完形填空水平,如果每次只错一两个空,这当然说明你没有问题。假如一般都错五六个甚至七八个,你通过你的词汇复习和阅读理解能力的提高,看看每周的完形填空测试是不是在长进?如果每次犯错的数量都在逐渐减少或大幅度下降,说明这段时间你的外语总体水平在提高,因而不练习完形填空也就不必担心了。再过一段时间,你的完形填空答对率会越来越高,甚至只错一个或做得全对。所以说,只要方法得当,学习就会达到“事半功倍”之效。这样,你的高三阶段,你的英语复习也就不会淹没在题海中,从而变得轻松而愉快! 三、考点全解

实际上,完形填空选项里的用词80%以上为基本词汇,而像deliberately这样的难词还是很少的,所以说,完形填空并不难,考生普遍得分率不高,问题在于考生的阅读理解能力不高,平时要注意培养逻辑思维能力和批判性思维能力。
四、解题方法
完形填空是一篇短文,测试考生的阅读能力和语言知识(主要是词汇知识)综合运用的能力。若想答好完形填空题,除了具备基本的阅读能力和词汇量外,还需要注意解题思路和解题技巧。以下是笔者根据教学经验总结的做题三步法:
1. 速读全文,了解大意。
这个步骤非常重要,往往考生没有养成先快速浏览全文的习惯,那么做题就会很慢而且答错很多。这个第一步千万不可忽视,在高三的复习阶段必须慢慢培养正确做题的习惯。尽管快速浏览需要2分钟左右,但是正如俗话说得好:“磨刀不误砍柴工”。速读后,了解了文章大意,随后答起题来就会又快又准确。
2. 整体思考,逐个答题。
完形填空题朝着“深层化和语境化”的方向发展,考生要借助上下文乃至全文语境的启示,揣摩作者的心情、态度以及意图。在答题过程中,除了对关联词的把握外,还要把握好语气、动作描写等。有时候,空白处所填的词在上文或下文会重复出现,或者以其同义词的形式再现。对每一个空都要根据文章的主题思想进行“语境推断、常识推断和综合推断”,然后初选出一个你认为的最佳答案。对于把握性不大的空,要做好标记,以便复查时确定。
3. 复查答案,解决难题。
完形填空初步选出答案后,到最后要对所做的选择进行复查。绝大部分填空都比较有把握,可能会出现个别空甚至几个空自己感觉不是十分确定。这时候需要再次从全文出发,对于有疑问的空要根据前后语境或行文逻辑重新作出判断。如果时间不允许你花更多时间思考,或者这个空确实很难,那么,不妨凭借语感做出最后的判定。注意不要不做出选择,空着不作答,那样肯定是不会得分的;要大胆地做出猜测,这样有可能会猜对,从而得分。
五、标准测试

这个步骤非常重要,往往考生没有养成先快速浏览全文的习惯,那么做题就会很慢而且答错很多。这个第一步千万不可忽视,在高三的复习阶段必须慢慢培养正确做题的习惯。尽管快速浏览需要2分钟左右,但是正如俗话说得好:“磨刀不误砍柴工”。速读后,了解了文章大意,随后答起题来就会又快又准确。
2. 整体思考,逐个答题。
完形填空题朝着“深层化和语境化”的方向发展,考生要借助上下文乃至全文语境的启示,揣摩作者的心情、态度以及意图。在答题过程中,除了对关联词的把握外,还要把握好语气、动作描写等。有时候,空白处所填的词在上文或下文会重复出现,或者以其同义词的形式再现。对每一个空都要根据文章的主题思想进行“语境推断、常识推断和综合推断”,然后初选出一个你认为的最佳答案。对于把握性不大的空,要做好标记,以便复查时确定。
3. 复查答案,解决难题。
完形填空初步选出答案后,到最后要对所做的选择进行复查。绝大部分填空都比较有把握,可能会出现个别空甚至几个空自己感觉不是十分确定。这时候需要再次从全文出发,对于有疑问的空要根据前后语境或行文逻辑重新作出判断。如果时间不允许你花更多时间思考,或者这个空确实很难,那么,不妨凭借语感做出最后的判定。注意不要不做出选择,空着不作答,那样肯定是不会得分的;要大胆地做出猜测,这样有可能会猜对,从而得分。
