英语委婉语是在日常的言语交际中的一种普遍的语言和文化现象,人们在言语交际中广泛地使用英语委婉语。本文从语用学的合作原则和礼貌原则的视角对英语委婉语进行探讨和分析,分析在言语交际过程中使用英语委婉语违背了合作原则却遵守了礼貌原则。在言语交际过程中,言语交际双方为了使言语交际顺利进行下去而使用委婉语,达到成功交际的目的。
English euphemism is a common language and cultural phenomenon in daily verbal communication. People use English euphemism widely in verbal communication. This essay explores and analyzes English euphemisms from the perspective of the pragmatic principles of co-operation and politeness. It analyzes that the use of English euphemisms in English communication violates the principle of cooperation and abides by the principle of politeness. In the process of verbal communication, both verbal communication parties use euphemism to make the verbal communication go smoothly and achieve the purpose of successful communication.
