1976年7月28日唐山、丰南地区发生强烈地震,波及天津新港,使码头遭到不同程度的破坏。筑港工人坚决响应党中央的号召,以阶级斗争为纲,发扬地大震、人大干,人定胜天的大无畏革命气概,日夜奋战,抢修码头,恢复港口生产。自1976年8月15日起经过40天的努力,共修复预应力桩1,200根,桩帽及系船柱块体共300多个。筑港工人发扬一不怕苦二不怕死的革命精神,
On July 28, 1976, a strong earthquake in Tangshan and Fengnan affected Tianjin New Port, causing wreckage to varying degrees. The workers in Hong Kong firmly responded to the call of the party Central Committee. With the class struggle as the key link, they carried forward the dauntless revolutionary spirit of earthquakes, people’s congresses and people’s determination to fight day by night and to repair docks and restore port production. After 40 days of work since August 15, 1976, a total of 1,200 prestressed piles were repaired, and a total of more than 300 blocks of pile caps and bollards were restored.
