大力发展高等职业教育，培养一大批具有必要的理论知识和较强实践能力，生产、建设、管理、服务第一线和农村急需的专门人才，是我国发展高等教育的既定方针。处于改革开放前沿的广东省，根据当地经济和社会发展的实际需要，创造性地贯彻落实中央这一方针，不断加快高等职业教育改革和发展的步伐，探索了许多有益的经验。本刊这一期以较大的篇幅，从不同侧面集中反映广东８所高等职业技术院校各有特色的实践与探索，以供各地借鉴。
Vigorously developing higher vocational education and cultivating a large number of specialized personnel with the necessary theoretical knowledge and strong practical abilities and the urgent need of production, construction, management, service and rural areas are the established guidelines for the development of higher education in our country. At the forefront of reform and opening up, Guangdong Province has creatively implemented the guideline of the Central Government based on the actual needs of local economic and social development, continuously accelerated the pace of reform and development in higher vocational education, and explored many useful experiences. This issue of this issue with a larger space, from different sides reflect the concentrated reflection of eight higher vocational and technical colleges and universities in Guangdong have their own characteristics of practice and exploration for reference.
