1944年7月9日,在中共中央晋察冀分局领导下,由邓拓负责编纂,晋察冀日报社编印的《毛泽东选集》,在河北省阜平县城西南马兰村属的仅有十来户人家的坡山村出版了。这个坡山村很小,知名度很低,小村小到连《河北省分县地图册》和《阜平县地名资料汇编》都查不到村名。但是,它却诞生了世界上第一个把毛泽东著作系统出版的版本,这是一部在中华人民共和国成立之前,流传最早、最广的《毛泽东选集》,曾多次翻印,影响很大。
